Mountain View Area The Stone County Medical Center, its physicians, surgeons, and other specialists are the core of the Mountain View area's medical facilities. Full treatment and rehabilitation facilities are available from the Stone County Medical Center. Private practitioners include doctors, dentists, an orthopedic surgeon, an optometrist, and chiropractors. There is a fully staffed physical rehabilitation department staffed providing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Other visiting medical specialists also support the community on a weekly basis. There are nursing home, Stone County Skilled Nursing Facility, and retirement facilities. There also are extensive home health care services available through the hospital. Local ambulance service is available and implementation of a 911 emergency telephone service is in progress.
