Mountain View, Arkansas is the proud owner of this nickname, given to her by the people that love to congregate on the court square. They come to sing, dance, and play along with friends, new and old.
	"Pickin' on the Square" is one of the things that is so special about Mountain View. You can bring your own instrument and just sit down and join right in. People meet from across the country and around the world to enjoy this friendly and inviting atmosphere. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the music and laid back fun  happens every weekend.
The oldest Mountain View music festival, The 41st Annual Arkansas Folk Festival, happens in the glorious Ozark spring and is scheduled for April 18-20, 2003. In addition to the ever present acoustic music on the Square & throughout Mountain View; activities for all ages include a parade on Saturday morning, children's games, arts & crafts and tasty food all about Courtsquare. This festival brings back memories of the "Good ol' Days" and just happens to coincide with the spring blooming of the dogwood trees.
